And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,
do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Col 3:17

I chose this graphic to use first because I want to show you what many of us look like at times. Head down, dragging our feet, sad, lonely.... Now what is that all about? Sure we all have things in our lives that are not what we would like them to be. We all have memories of things we wish we could change, turn the clocks back so to speak. But what about TODAY? What about the blessings that we take for granted? There are many you know!

The Bible has a verse that is very much to this line of thinking.
The Bible says:

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Heb 13:5

Let your conversation...hmmm that word doesn't just mean your words, did you know that? Websters 1828 defines it as:

CONVERSATION, n. General course of manners; behavior; deportment:...

So we see here that our conversation is not just our words but also our nearly "everything else" don't we? So, why not get that look off of our faces, and rejoice in the things that we do have, in the BLESSINGS that we can all declare! whether as a child of God, or as one that has not discovered yet the Joy of Salvation through Jesus Christ.

For instance, if you are here reading this (and you are!) you could not be here without the air you breath yes? Did you remember to be thankful for that today? How about the fact that you woke at all to yet another day? How can we show we are thankful for these two very important things? By making the most of them of course. Not wasting it with bitterness,(it won't change things) not with unthankfulness, (It's a waste of time.) Instead of being bitter, why not take that bitterness and turn it into kindness towards someone? (Especially if you are bitter because of a wrong done unto you) You know that old adage, "Do unto others, as you would have others do onto you". Try it, it works!!

I couldn't pass up this little girl on the swing. Are you a mother or father? Does your child/children have a content smile on their face like this little girl? If not, why not? If it is because mom and dad are to busy... you can show your thankfulness at the privilege of being blessed with him/her, by changing that now! They are only young for such a small amount of time. Maybe your child has physical problems that you didn't plan on before he/she was born, did you know that you were chosen for that child? We ALL need to see the blessings in our lives! Most times we just don't see the roses aside the thorns. (Could that be because we are not looking for them as much as we are feeling the pricks?)

I thought I would share some of the blessings I am thankful for. First and foremost, I'm thankful for my Salvation and the testimony that the Lord has given me. Not only mine but that of my husband and 8 of our 9 children. (Our youngest sure loves Jesus, but has not yet called on Him who is able to save) We are very blessed to have our children all born to us healthy. Well, that is .. Except for the occasional scrape, break or whatever ;-) but even those are at a minimal for us. Iím thankful that our first to leave the nest, was married this past July in a God honoring Christian ceremony to a young man we are thrilled to have join the family. My teens like GOOD music, enjoy church, have respect for their parents and those in authority over them. Whew! I am blessed.

I am so very grateful for my friends! My most bestest friend in the whole wide world would of course be Jesus Christ, then I would have to say my Husband. God has brought some really special people in to my life over the years. How could I ever name them all here? Impossible! In the last year in a half though I have been blessed with some here on the net that have become very special to me. Cindy (calgon) we go back to the very beginning of my web days. Although we don't "see" each other as much anymore, we have even been given the chance to spend an afternoon together here where I live, What a joy! Then there is Laura (heartstrings), whew! What can I say, except she is my "bud" right Laura? Let's see, then there is Anne (we think so alike! LOL), Nanci! Kim, Julie, all the ladies from my FAR email group. There's Jackie, Crystle, Kim, Laurie, Marilyn, Jill (my midi pro), and so many others. Guess I should stop now before this turns into a book. Wait!! -- Then there is YOU! All my guests are special friends! It is a blessing to be able to have you join me in celebrating my walk with the Lord.

Do I have a money tree out back? NOPE Or a closet full of the latest fashions? NOPE How about vacations to far away lands? No again. But I have what I NEED! Therefore, I am content. Do I complain about these things? Doesn't everyone? However, I do my best to remember that all that I have is ENOUGH. Especially with a large family like mine, what would it say to my children if I were found complaining about the WANTS... that they (children) cost too much? That maybe I would be happier with less? (children) God forbid that I ever convey that to them. What an honor it is to have a part in their lives, molding and training them for the Lord and His work.

I am thankful for my prayer life! I begin and end each day with the Lord. Always thanking Him for His goodness to my family and me. I thank Him for my church. It is a good church with a wonderful Pastor. I thank Him for my Bible, the Authorized King James 1611, and His perfect word and love letter to ME! I thank Him for my salvation that He so freely gives. He cares so much for me, and I Him, what a glorious friendship we share.
The Goodness of God

This little fellow is SO happy because
he knows his ABC'S of Thanksgiving, do you?

For those of you that don't know me I live in the USA. For that I am thankful also. It is a free country, where I am able to worship God freely! Not all are as fortunate. I am so thankful to our forefathers for their bringing us here. Read what the The First National Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1777 had to say.

As you pass by a home do you often wonder, just who lives there? Or maybe what they are up to? Do you ever stop to think about what kind of things you do when you THINK no one is watching or can hear you? Better be careful! God is watching and wanting to use you at all times, ARE YOU READY?? Let's take a walk by Margaret's home , she is in the kitchen now, preparing her Thanksgiving dinner.

For three things I thank God every day of my life; thanks that He has vouchsafed me knowledge of His works; deep thanks that He has set in my darkness the lamp of faith; deep, deepest thanks that I have another life to look forward to--
a life joyous with light and flowers and heavenly song.

Helen Adams Keller

Gobble Gobble

The turkey shot out of the oven
and rocketed into the air
it knocked every plate off the table
and partly demolished a chair.

It ricocheted into a corner
and burst with a deafening boom
then splattered all over the kitchen
completely obscuring the room.

It stuck to the walls and the windows
it totally coated the floor
there was turkey attached to the ceiling
where there'd never been turkey before.

It blanketed every appliance
it smeared every saucer and bowl
there wasn't a way I could stop it
that turkey was out of control.

I scraped and I scrubbed with displeasure
and thought with chagrin as I mopped
that I'd never again stuff a turkey
with popcorn that hadn't been popped.
Ha Ha Ha !!
